A university professor of applied economics studied the
effect of landscaping on home sale prices by comparing
otherwise similar, mostly upper-middle-class houses in a
particular city. He determined that prices of structures
with topnotch landscaping were 5 to 6 percent higher
than those with tidy but not special yards, and as much
as 9 percent above those with sub-par yards.
